Someone Please Get Kanye a Good Team of Advisors

Kanye West has undoubtedly spent 2018 a busy man. We’re not here to pile on him, he’s clearly working out some things professionally, but we can’t help but think that he’d benefit from a good team of Advisors that he trusted. Here’s why:

1. You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide From Fame

Whether you aspire to be insta-famous or revel in your anonymity, you have to admit fame is hard. There’s a complete lack of privacy. Everyone knows (and has an opinion on) who you’re dating, what you’re wearing, and the professional choices you make. To withstand that level of constant scrutiny takes a toll on you. Think about that for a second. If you followed someone around taking pictures of them going about their day, commenting on who they’re spending time with, and saying mean things on the internet; it would be highly intrusive, weird, and mean. Kanye would call that a Monday. A strong team of Advisors could help him navigate this maddening component of his life and help him develop some coping mechanisms to deal with the intrusions.

2. Being Told “No” Is a Good Thing

Advisors aren’t here to run your life or babysit you, but they are a sounding board to get advice and plot next steps. Yeezy has had some very public missteps over the course of 2018 (which we won’t get into here) that may have been avoided if he had some trusted people he could use as a sounding board before he took his next steps. Point is, if you trust your Advisors, you’ll come to them for advice and guidance, and be more inclined to listen (and execute on) what they have to say.

3. Share the Load

When you run as many side gigs as ‘Ye does, it’s bound to be stressful; talking to people you trust to help you prioritize where you should focus your energy is important. What’s also important is knowing when to delegate, which Kanye’s Advisors would most certainly help him figure out how to do. We’re sure Kanye has a team he pays to help him run his businesses, but a team of Advisors would be outsiders who only have Yeezy’s interests in mind when they gave him advice or pointed him towards resources. Their paychecks aren’t dependent upon what he decides, and perhaps their input would help him delegate more.

We’re not saying a team of Advisors will fix everything for Kanye, but it might help. Agree? Disagree? Let us know in the comments!
