Harnessing Mindfulness

Meditation… I’ve never figured out how to meditate and when I mentioned this to my colleague she followed up by sending this article on mindfulness. Now, at the end of every workday, I walk up and down a hill for an hour before I go home to my family. I think about my heel touching down and curling my foot to my toes. I focus on my breath in that moment and what that is doing for me.

In addition, during the day, I set an alarm for a 15-minute period to use that time to be present with my thoughts and actions. I think through my workday, my interactions with colleagues, or I call a friend, but no matter what, those 15 minutes are mine.
